2013 tcm SUTS blogathon: Fade to Black

Once again I find myself wondering where the time went.  To paraphrase Anthony Hopkins in 1998’s Meet Joe Black: “Thirty-one days.  Don’t they go by in a blink?”

Of course, an event is not an event without the people who participate in it, and I cannot thank them enough for the time, effort, and care they put into their entries, all of which clearly reflect the passion that the members of the classic film blogging community have.  It never ceases to amaze me.

Also, thanks to everyone who visits the bloggers’ sites.  Maybe you have a favorite film or a favorite actor or a favorite blogger.  No matter what, support is just as important to the blogathon as any submission is.

And where would this event be without my my co-host, Jill Blake of Sittin’ On A Backyard Fence?  Believe me when I say that she is the heart of soul of this event, and it is a joy to work with her every day of the month.  My thanks to her for everything.

The last bit of business before we close the door on another year is to announce the winners of The Contest:

Lindsay of Lindsay’s Movie Musings wins The Magnificent Seven Collection on Blu-ray
The Lady Eve from The Lady Eve’s Reel Life wins the TCM Greatest Classic Legends Film Collection: Elizabeth Taylor
Margaret Perry from The Great Katharine Hepburn wins the 50th Anniversary edition ofWest Side Story on Blu-ray

And our Grand Prize Winner is…

Karen from Shadows and Satin! She wins a $50 TCM Shop gift card! Don’t let it burn a hole in your pocket, Karen!

Thanks again, everyone.
