Welcome to DAY EIGHTEEN of the 2013 Summer Under the Stars blogathon!

Today we will spotlight bloggers who will spotlight … Natalie Wood!

First, a little Natalie Wood trivia … According to IMDb (so it MUST be true) … “On Saturday, April 23, 1966, [Wood] made Harvard history when she became the first performer voted the year’s worst by the Harvard Lampoon to show up and accept her citation.”

SUTS and Oscar: Natalie Wood was nominated for three Oscars:

Best Supporting Actress, 1955’s Rebel Without a Cause (lost to Jo Van Fleet for East of Eden)

Best Actress, 1961’s Splendor in the Grass  (lost to Sophia Loren for Two Women)

Best Actress 1963’s Love With a Proper Stranger (lost to Patricia Neal for Hud)
