2013 tcm SUTS Blogathon Day 9: Steve McQueen

Welcome to DAY NINE of the 2013 TCM Summer Under the Stars blogathon!

Today we will spotlight bloggers who will spotlight The King of Cool … Steve McQueen!

First, a little McQueen trivia: According to IMDb, Steve McQueen turned down a role that would become iconic in the history of Hollywood, a role that ultimately went to Clint Eastwood. The role? Dirty Harry. Can you imagine McQueen saying, “Go ahead, make my day.”?

SUTS and Oscar: Steve McQueen was nominated for one Oscar – Best Actor for his performance in 1966’s The Sand Pebbles. He lost to Paul Scofield for A Man For All Seasons.

Now onto the blogging!

Kicking off the day is Raquel from Out of the Past with her Top 10 Reasons Why You Should Watch Bullitt.

We are excited to have I Love Terrible Movies on board for the Blogathon with a look at the deliciously bad-it’s-so-good Sci-Fi flick The Blob.

The blogathon welcomes Travis from Cinemalacrum with his own unique take on The Blob.

And over at The Moviola, the blogathon’s own Jill Blake offers a look the Blu-ray edition of The Great Escape.

Check back soon for some great posts!

Thanks for the opportunity to write about one of my favorite movies. Had a really good time putting the post together for the blogathon.
