Film Review – MARGIN CALL

As Margin Call opens, Risk Analyst manager Eric Dale (Stanley Tucci) is being laid off from his job with a New York-based investment bank. Chandor really gets it right – the tension, the speculation, the wondering if your shoulder will be tapped next, the simultaneous feelings of relief and guilt that come with keeping your job. Even Eric’s meeting with the Human Resources team to discuss his severance, benefits, stock options, etc., is spot-on and unnerving. It sets the tone of the rest of the picture.  Read the rest at Filmoria
